The diluted floral paints, dry inks, and raw canvas texture here reference Japanese woodblock printing which I've been in love with since I first began art school.

Although this method is traditionally used with static subjects like landscapes and sitting portraits, I wanted to play with motion in the linework much the same as The Great Wave Off Kanagawa by Hokusai. “原代碼” means "source code" in Traditional Mandarin, pulled from a beautiful conversation with a friend who said, "The more I talk to people or the more people talk to me, the more I see how deeply elaborate we are, how intricate the source code that informs our behavior is, and how endless we are, in the sense that there's no end to knowing somebody, you'll always learn something new. We are little pieces of eternity."

These eternities are why we stay in touch across time zones, learn to navigate the most difficult conversations, and confront our fears. I'm the kind of person who loves to maximize the concrete things in my life, but I'm constantly being reminded that we are built by the ebb and flow of our relationships, not the other way around.

This is a digital print printed on canvas, meaning it is digitally drawn first, then printed onto canvas instead of paper to preserve texture and color. It comes in three sizes:

Small (B4 - 9.8 in x 13.9 in / 250 mm x 353 mm)
Medium (B3 - 13.9 in x 19.7 in / 353 mm x 500 mm)
Large (B2 ISO - 19.7 in ix 27.8 in / 500 mm x 707 mm)
