The diluted floral paints, dry inks, and raw canvas texture in this piece reference Japanese woodblock printing and play with motion in linework as a nod to The Great Wave Off Kanagawa by Hokusai.
“原代碼” means "source code" in Traditional Mandarin, pulled from a beautiful conversation: "The more I talk to people or the more people talk to me, the more I see how deeply elaborate we are, how intricate the source code that informs our behavior is, and how endless we are, in the sense that there's no end to knowing somebody, you'll always learn something new. We are little pieces of eternity."
These eternities are why we stay in touch across time zones, navigate difficult conversations, and confront fears. I'm thankful for creative community constantly reminding me that we are built by the ebb and flow of our relationships, not the other way around.
